Piemonte is situated in the in the North West corner of the Italy. This area is surrounded on three sides by the Alps, including Monviso where the Po rises, and Monte Rosa. It borders France, Switzerland and the Italian regions of Lombardy, Liguria, AostaValley and for a very small fragment with Emilia Romagna.
The Sauze d'Oux area forms part of an industrial triangle created by Milan, Turin and Genoa. Italians themselves use this area as a popular holiday destination.
